WHAT: Elderberries Cafe and Vanichi Magazine presents I Am Freedom: A Night of Poetry Redefined. Vanichi is  dedicated to pioneers and innovators in fashion, entertainment, art and beyond. Our pages provide an unbiased platform for imagination, vision and one’s true voice. We seek the icons and the iconoclasts and spotlight the progressive throughout a diversity of mediums. 
Elderberries Cafe is the first gluten free/ soy free Vegan Cafe in the US. Their simple motto is focused around community and consciousness: Kindness. Care. Consideration. Throughout the night their kitchen will be open to offer vegetarian/ vegan locally-sourced plates, in addition to their acclaimed baked goods.

This session of I Am Freedom will be held In honor of the passing of the legendary Dr. Maya Angelou. The night will highlight innovators before a live audience.  Producer and published poet Joy Donnell will be co-hosting the event alongside Vanichi Magazine's Editor In Chief Jordan Swain.

The open mic list will be on a first come first serve basis. Those wanting to perform are encouraged to arrive early. The top three poets from the evening will be published in the July issue of Vanichi Magazine (www.vanichi.com). These poets will be selected by a panel of guest judges.
